6.1.8 Request for a Change of Worker

On occasions the relationship between the parents or other family members and the key worker may not be productive in terms of working to safeguard and promote the welfare of the child/ren. Provided that such a change is in the best interests of the child who is the focus of concern, agencies should respond sympathetically to a request for a change of worker.   Consideration must always be given as to whether this is a form of parental ‘disguised compliance’.
